Threat to switch

Just a question in regards to CFXA and CTD: If our sets on an option 11
are CTD CFXA doe sthis pose as a threat to our system being attacked from outside or inside
for that matter?

depends on many different things. Some people can forward there phones to 9 than call there number and get dial tone. On our switch you can't do this at least not when you call the number externally. I hear on other peoples switches that you can do this. So it depends on different settings in the switch.

cfxa is one i almost never give to any user. as the above post says it can be abused. make a ld call on a display set, put it on hold and pick it back up, you'll see a 3 or 4 digit number followed be a two digit member, forward your phone to the 4 digit number, call it, that will give you dial tone from your ld carrier.. that's the oldest hack in the world.. bye the way you also just bypassed ctd, and you can dial 1 xxx to numbers not even in your switch.. you bypass bars/nars
