Hi All:

Does anyone have any experience with the Active Directory to ADAM Migration?

We are upgrading our Symposium 4.2 to Contact Center 6. One of the things we need to do is upgrade our Web Client 4.5 on Windows 2000 to the new version on Windows 2003 Server. The procedure we're following says to first load Web Client 4.5 on the Win 2003 server, then perform the
Active Directory to ADAM Migration. This should bring your partitions, Web Client users and some other settings across. Then you upgrade to CCMA 6, and all that stuff should be there for you.

We get 4.5 loaded on Win 2003, all the SUs installed and can log in with webadmin to the "empty" Web Client 4.5. We sync the ICEAdmin and server Administrator IDs and perform the migration. We can see in the log files
that some 8400 items were migrated successfully. We should now be able to log into the new server with any valid ID and password that worked on the old server. However, none of the IDs work! The webadmin that worked before the migration no longer works either. Any ideas where this procedure might be coming off the tracks? We're not even getting to the point where we can install the CCMA software...

I always recommend rebuilding the access classes, partitions, user IDs, and scheduled reports from scratch.

It gives you a chance to clean out the deadwood and refocus on how you manage the system. It should only take a day or less.

Going forward with release 7 (whenever that happens), I would expect Nortel to have a better migration process.
