There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipient's email server. Please contact your system administrator.
<domainname.com #5.5.0 smtp;554 This server requires PTR for unauthenticated connections.>

I am getting the above NDR message when sending to a specific domain. We just changed our hosting company and changed the DNS. Any help will be appreciated.

Have your ISP put a PTR record in for your Exchange server's public IP.

We are running an internal Exchange server. How do I do that?

Doesn't matter, you contact your ISP and have them put a PTR record in for your mail server. Where the server is at doesn't matter, whomever is handling the DNS for your Internet IP addresses has to put in the PTR for you.

Thanks. I found out that the PTR record is resolving to the wrong IP address. I am having my ISP change this. Thanks for the info!!
