HI, I have Bckupexec 8.6. I am trying to backup the info store. I am able to backup the Exchnage directory just fine, but backupexec freezes when it comes to backing up the info store. Although the counter keeps on ticking. The exchange agent is installed. Any ideas or suggestion will be helpful.

- screenshots are good to see but to be honest not much help.
- does BE (backup exec) create an associated job log, If so, paste it here.
- also, any clues in the event viewers ?
- what version (and Sp) of exchange . I believe its 5.5, but what SP ? Local or remote to the media server ?
- If its just the IS causing an issue, one thing you should check first of all is that the EDBBCLI.DLL (ESEBCLI2.DLL for exchange 2000) on the exchange server is the same version thats running on the media server. If not, either apply the same exchange SP (SP4 is the last release I beleive) to the media server or , stop all BE services and copy it FROM the exchange server to the Media server > start all BE services and run a backup

I had the same prob in the past and found a work around by using an open file lock comand. Back ups all run normal now... Give it a shot...
