This one is bizarre, mysterious messages left in general MB

Can't remember the exact release/version the cust is on, my apologies, but I believe it is 4.0(12). The general mailbox is x1000, which is also the extension of the switchboard. Apparently it receives messages that are not from real calls (no info on call details #, etc.) that only seems to happen afterhours or weekends and its apparently intermittent. Every message is also the same "your call cannot be completed as dialed, please hang up and try..." or something along those lines. Any clues, suggestions, resolutions? I told the customer to try a reboot when theres an opportunity, it's been over 6 months since the last reboot, but I've seen weird things get correct by a simple reboot in the past...
 
run SSA and get it logging. then you can playback the call.

Also look in VM Pro Console when a message is left and see what goes on.

Do you have a ringback external on a new voicemail turned on? So when a new voicemail is left the phone start calling the external number (which is a wrong number) and it then records the number invalid text.

Not sure if the ringback external is turned on. Would that setting be located within the mailbox of x1000 or a field in the manager? There is nothing checked off in the User form under the Voicemail tab for vm ringback..
