Hello,

I am stumped and was wondering if there is someone who can help me out. I am running CR 7 in a Windows 2000 environment, accessing a SQL Server 2000 db. Here's what is happening:

I have created some reports that were working fine until our network admin stopped the IIS service on the machine. After the web site was back up, the reports did not work. I get the following error message:

1. An alert box appears stating that my "User session has expired".

2. The ASP page I am using loads properly, with the ActiveX viewer coming up but no report is displayed. The top of the ASP page reads the following error message:

"An Error has occured on the server in attempting to access the data source-2147417851.."

I have tried everything from re-starting services to building brand new reports and nothing works. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate the help.

Thanks,
Brad

Unfortunately, I ran into this problem at a previous client. We had an NT / IIS / Crystal Web server box and an NT / SQL Server box with our database.

Whenever we had a problem on either box, we saw this issue. The solution was to re-boot both boxes. A very bad solution.

I called Crystal and they claimed to not have heard of the problem. I posted this question here last summer. No one responded. Brian J. Alves

Even if we performed a clean shutdown and reboot of the database server, our ASP Crystal app stopped working. We would have to reboot the IIS server as well. The ASP app worked just fine until the user got to the crystal viewer page and the infamous "user session expired" message. Brian J. Alves

Thanks for the help guys, it's much appreciated. Unfortunately things are as they were and I'm still plugging away. I write if there is something worth sharing.
