I was cleaning up my computer and ran across this text I had saved years ago. I'm not sure where I got it or I would give credit, but I will throw it out there for your opinion.

We have all been to those meetings where someone wants you to give more than 100 percent of your effort. How about achieving 103 percent? Here's a little math that might prove helpful in the future.

The English alphabet A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z can be represented as numbers where A=1 and Z=26. So you can convert any word into an equivalent sum by adding the values of the word's constituent numbers. Thus:

H A R D W O R K:
8 1 18 4 23 15 18 11 = 98% only

K N O W L E D G E:
11 14 15 23 12 5 4 7 5 = 96% only


But:
B U L L S * * T
2 21 12 12 19 8 9 20 = 103%

And:
A * * K I S S I N G
1 19 19 11 9 19 19 9 14 7 = 127%

So, it stands to reason that hard work and knowledge will get you close, but bulls**t and a**kissing will put you over the top every time.

Opinion. Hm. Do I have to have an opinion on this? I didn't have one. But I still can provide it! :-D

First, using your method of calculation, a better choice for you effort, with higher rate of return would be:

CREATIVITY
3+18+5+1+20+9+22+9+20+25=132

ASSERTIVENESS
1+19+19+5+18+20+9+22+5+14+5+19+19=175

INFORMATIVENESS
9+14+6+15+18+13+1+20+9+22+5+14+5+19+19=189

RESOURCEFULNESS 
18+5+19+15+21+18+3+5+6+21+12+14+5+19+19=200

and many more.

On the other hand, a nice long (the longer the better) restful sleep might be even better:

ZZZZZZZZ
26+26+26+26+26+26+26+26=208
ZZZZZZZZZZZZ
26+26+26+26+26+26+26+26+26+26+26+26=312

I would also question the method you use for your calculation as being not completely scientific. ;-)

Why do you think that the unit of your calculation is a percent? And a percent of what?

And why do you use addition? A multiplication would bring you higher result. On the other hand, division... Or take some other, more interesting function. Or convert those to hexadecimals before doing so.

As my experience tells me, the figures may change from this, but the reliability, dependability and trustworthiness (here is a nice word for use in the excercise above) of the result would be constant.
