I disabled client firewall on windows xps stations via group policy on my windows 2003 SBS and since then every time we print something we get "This document was sent to the printer" pop-up which is so annoying.

Is there any way I can turn this off?

Thanks,

Mike

I would turn off the Messenger service on your your print server, and I would turn it off on the XP client machines at well. It's rarely used for anything useful, and is the source of annoying popup messages. Note, this isn't the same as Windows Messenger, the IM application.

I tried to do that from the client side but didn't help. Now I am going to try it on the actual server.

Thanks very much,

Mike

has any one have any Idea about how to disable "The document was sent to the printer" balloon message! on Windows xp sp2

It's easy (although I don't know if it works on SBS).

O the print server, open up any print queue. Click on File and select "Server Properties".

On some of the tabs you can select to report several issues, including succesful printouts.

Good luck!
