you can try to have the dnd on busy turned on for the set
this will stop the ringing from happening if they are on a call
or you can have the fwd busy set to go to voicemail if they are on the phone

Do not disturb on busy makes the DID ring Busy, and they want an opportunity to answer before it goes to VM. However we assigned the lines to ring only to a ext in the IT room and then the DND on busy works properly .

Thanks,
If we bounce enough ideas around then something will stick.

now the Question is how can we see the caller ID info on the
2cnd call? we have been told to use 811 witch will due what is is designed to do but they have to press feature btn then the line button and the old NEC they had did exactly what they wanted. Help ?

You could program F811 to an available button. You'll then still need to press the ringing line to see caller ID.

Do Not Disturb (DND) on busy sends busy tone to incoming external caller instead of following Call Forward No Answer (CFNA)

Problem Description:
Do No Disturb (DND) on Busy does not function in the same way as the DND Feature (Feature 85) on the system. In Business Communications Manager (BCM) when DND on Busy is enabled under set capabilities the incoming external caller will receive a busy tone if the set is busy and not follow the CFNA setting. DND (Feature 85) disables the audible notification of an incoming call, but follows the sets normal programming like CFNA.

Problem Resolution:
To allow the external incoming call to follow the CFNA programming on the set you need to assign the line/target line to be answered by the BCM's Auto Attendant (AA). As long as the rings to answer are set higher than the CFNA rings on the set, the incoming call will flash the indicator on the set and then follow the CFNA setting.

Let us know if this works..

How can you answer a second call if you dont hear it, personaly I dont stare at my phone when I am on it.

Perhaps swap the M series phone for a T series an turn the ringing down at the set, you will see the red light flash on the corner of your eye.
