there are system Logs in Novell?? 1

Hi,

I'm new in Novell SO, i want to know if there is something similar to var/logs on linux or like in windows the system .evt files but in a Novell.
I need that because i need to see if in a Novell backup server are scsi errors to see if the scsi card is working fine.

sys:\etc\console.log

The console log will have any messages that come over the console. You would be able to see error messages as well as status messages.

And look at your SYS:SYSTEM\SYS$LOG.ERR file as well.

Don't forget to put a statement in your autoexec.ncf file like "load conlog.nlm" to make this work.

Yes - if it's not loaded and you load it, it will wipe out the existing one.

You might want to use the archive=yes switch in the autoexec so you can keep them once they get to a certain size and not lose any info.
