This is driving me insane. I am running 2k server and i have another pc running 2k Professional. I have created a local domain and the 2k machine is logging in fine on it and i have also set up RRAS with NAT so the other pc works fine with the Internet Sharing. However i cannot seem to connect to the other pc. Nor can the other pc seem to connect to mine to access resources and shares. No matter what i try (reboots etc) nothing seems to work. Im pulling my hair out here as ICQing files and moving them on disk is not an efficient way of transferring anything!

I am using a Coax cable between the PCs.
I have used IPCONFIG /All and everything seems in order. Correct IP etc given out with DHCP and all other stuff seems fine.

Any ideas?

ANything would be much appreciated :)

Thanks

Brendan

I first must assume that "the other pc" refers to the W2K Pro system in a two system local network or are we talking about a remote pc there? If you are logging into a domain, you should see the Ctrl-Alt-Del message at boot on the workstation, if not then you are logging into a workgroup which 2K seems to be able to do. The next item to look at is what you have the workstation user profile set to, if it has the rights to do the things you are trying to do.

2pcs on a network linked with a coax cable. I cannot connect to the other pc. Sometimes it lets the other pc connect to my pc (the server machine) but i have never been able to get this one to connect to the other one.. with the error "There are currently no logon servers available to service the login request" This is the error that is on both pc's.

This is driving me insane!

what in the heck is that when its at home?

Ok, then to get your config straight:

Do you have IP Forwarding enabled on the RAS server?
