I WANT TO KONW IF THERE IS SIP CLIENT FOR IPHONE 3G WHO CAN ESTABLISH CONECTION WHIT THE MITEL 3300 ICP, SOMETHING SIMILAR XLITE SOFTPHONE IN THE COMPUTERS WHO ESTABLISH CONECTION WHIT THE 3300 ICP AND HAS AND EXTENSION NUMBER.FROM MITEL 3300 ICP.

PLEASE DONT USE ALL CAPS, ITS HARD TO READ!!

Depending on how you wish to use it, The new options in Series X may do the trick.

Remote HotDesking allows any device to login as a local DN and have calls directed to the remote device.
The remote device would have access to most common deskset features such as hold/retrieve, transfer, conference, call fwd, and paging

If you try to use a SIP phone over 3g youll see a big red x come up on the screen. ATT will block SIP traffic over the 3g network. too threatening to them

I have had it working with Siphone but when you use a different app it stops working
But there is an app "backgrounder" which can solve this but then you need to jailbreak !!!

Or tricker 3g would fool the app if it was blocking it on the device, again you would need to jailbreak.

** SIP N00B Alert **

If I got a SIP trunk does that automatically give the 3300 a static IP which my iphone would talk to? Am I right in thinking I would need a SIP trunk per call just like ISDN30?

Cheers

You need a SIP Trunk license, for every channel, eg simultaneous call, when using SIP trunks.

This is different to ISDN30/PRI, where once you have the license, you could use between 1 and 30 channels/simultaneous calls without more licenses.

This has nothing to do with static IP addresses.

Some SIP trunk providers, authenticate you, by the IP address you connect to them from, in which case, you would need a static IP address. Others use username+password, in which case you wouldn't need (but might still prefer) to have a static IP address.

If you connect directly from your softclient then you don't need to use SIP trunking. Use SIP client licenses and register your soft client directly with 3300. The only complication it has to be reachable from the public Internet. I use siproxd as a SIP "Teleworker" gateway. It will proxy all SIP and RTP traffic to 3300 without exposing it to wild Internet. Your implementation may vary and will depend on available resources.

In relation to using SIP trunks with the Mitel (though not directly related to using the iPhone as a SIP device to the Mitel).

Noticed today that Mitel Border Gateway v5.2 (was Teleworker)

now contains a new 'SIP Trunk Proxy Service':
"serves as a SIP-aware firewall, enabling connection to SIP trunks without the need for 3rd party firewall hardware"

slapin's suggestion of siproxd will likely be cheaper, but if you wanted an all Mitel solution.....

(I've never used either)

Part 54004491 is: SIP Trunking Channel Proxy
(not sure if it is licenses 'per channel' or not)
