Error message received:
Storage device reported an error on a request to write data to media.
Error reported:
The semaphore timeout period has expired.
Backed up 1 file in 1 directory.
Job completion status: Failed

Does anyone have any ideas of what can be done. Any help will be appreciated. Many thanks.

When backing up a remote server, the following error may occur during the verify process: Storage device "[DEVICENAME]" reported an error on a request to read data from media. Error reported: The semaphore timeout period has expired.

Before you start changing the registry entrys, you might want to try to use the Veritas driver. If there is no change, try the latest driver from the tape manufacturer. You may want to update the SCSI controller driver as well, as you at it :)

The server got rebooted (user pulled the plug!) and it's working fine now.
