The "search" feature within explorer bar.....

I am trying to disable a certain computer in our company from searching the internet. I have everything locked out via group policy so that the user can only go to the homepage and one web page that is listed in favorites.
But under View>Explorer Bar>Search, the user can still gain access to a search engine.
How can I disable the "search" feature within the "explorer bar"??
I'm sure there is a registry setting, I just can't find it anywhere.

That tweak must be for windows xp only, I am currently running Windows 2000 Pro.
I have found way to disable the "help" and "file" menu from the top of the internet explorer window. But I can't find out how to remove the "view" menu or to disable the search function within it.
Any more ideas???

I was not worried about tweaks, there is a reasonably clear explanation of how too unregister the required services (put in the context of how to register them to make them work again.)

A simple addition under IE, to block the necessary websites is also explained. (Again, in the context that if blocked, the service will not launch).
 
There has to be a way to remove the or disable the "view" drop down menu at the top of Interent Explorer.

Or remove the "explorer bar" or "search" within it.

Anyone have anymore ideas????

I believe you are referring to top level menus. For anyone looking at the toolbar side of things, explore all the links here:
For the top down IE menu items I do not think there is a way to do this.

The intention was to restrict the content, or specific sites, or specific IPs.

Facilities to do this are all there.
 
I wanted to note that rather than beat your head against the wall over the issue, you either:

. Use kiosk mode for that one user.
. Create a clear written employee statement about internet usage.

There are reasonable things that can be done through Group Policy and the occasional regisry tweak. But for a rogue employee in terms of internet usage the solution is through your Human Resources side of the shop and not the OS.
