GB
windows 2000 server
ml370 g2 with 2 * 36 gb drives split into a c: and a d:
i need to expand it for a short period
the disk is set to basic

if i swap the disks one at a time with a 72gb
how can i extend the c: and d:

i know there is something with diskpart and partition magic etc - only with basic or dynamic or whatever

Ghost" them on the new 72 disks..

Put the new disks in the system. Depending on scsi ID 's (&CD-rom) they will be something like F: & G:
Format them using preferably NTFS.

Ghost the C:\ partition onto the F: drive
Same goes for the D: -> G: drive

Remove the old 36GB 's
(You might also want to set appropriate scsi ID 's on the new 72GB 's)
Boot up, new system ;)

Mind you, you need a recent ghost version, assuming you use NTFS, because version from 7.1 (? not quite sure) down do not write NTFS very well, or at all..
