I am running Windows 2000 Pro SP 4 and 2000 Server SP4, in Workgroup network and about 2 or 3 time a day all of our users are disconnected from their mapped drives. The following message appears:
An error occurred while reconnecting Drive Letter: to \\File-server\File-share.
Microsoft Windows Network: The local device name is already in use.
This connection has not been restored.
All mapped drives have a red cross next to them.
These drives are down for approx 5 mins and are then restored without any action from the network administrators.
Has anyone got an idea what is going on?
Please help.....!
Cheers
Steve
If at first you don't succeed....go down the pub and have a beer
