The customer has said that he pick up a handset and a squeal comes from the handset. They hang up the phone and pick it back up and the squeal is still there. This is happening to all phones. Customer has to rebot the system and the squeal goes away. This has happened 4 times in the last 6 months. The system is a 406v2 and 4.0 software.

Make sure the switch and lines under the System Tab are set to the appropriate country code. I had an issue with squealing and it turned out it was shipped ALAW from the distributor instead of ULAW. I had to go in through the DTE port to make the change.
