Hello,
we use the IPO 11.1.2. and I noticed that the ID of the devices changes. Normally no problem, but we use the function "Dial Physical Extn by ID" and then the calls arrive at the wrong terminal. Does anyone have a tip that the ID always remains the same?
Thanks

What devices? All/some/what type of devices???

If its softphones I'm not entirely surprised. Workplace can be configured with just an IP Office user record. A virtual extension record is created whilst the application is logged in and automatically disappears when the application is logged out. Never looked but I wouldn't be stunned to find out that means they may get virtual extensions with different device IDs. If that is the case, just manually create permanent SIP extension records to match the users if possible (it might be an issue if they are users who also have a fixed deskphone for which an extension record already exists).

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Hello sizbut,
thank you for the quick reply. It is indeed about desk phones (9611G). We use the feature to reach people directly, even if a forwarding to the outer office is active. Since the ID changes, I need to check and adjust the entries periodically.

What happens if you try "Dial Physical Extn by Number"? Does that ignore forwarding, etc.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Thanks, that's a good tip. I will test it.

I have never seen the ID's change but I also have to admit that I only use the dial by physical ID if I look for a phone that I can't find in a big place as it does not forward or cover to vm.
Maybe 11.1 has a problem leaving the ID's the same or maybe it was after an upgrade as sometimes it is resorting ID's when you make the first change in programming after that or hardware changes.
