tree-problem (the capital letters are shapes and the lines are connections)
|---AA1 layer 1={A}
|---AA--|---AA2 layer 2={AA,AB}
| |---AA3 layer 3={AA1,AA2,AA3,AB1,AB2,AB3)
A--|
| |---AB1
|---AB--|---AB2
|---AB3

Now I switch off (make invisible) layer 3, than I get:

|---AA
|
A--|
|
|---AB

but what I want is:

|-AA
A-|
|-AB

question:
How can I fill the empty gapp automatic when switch off a layer?

P.S. I work with visio professional 2003

Layers are just a way of relating items so their visibility can be controlled, it does not move the location of the items.
