I've seen similar questions about this but nothing that has been overly helpful...so here goes.

I get the following message: Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Any helpful advice from any of you terrific Exchange Guru's out there?

Thanks in advance.

some things to check:
1) Are your PTR records correct?
2) If this is inbound, have you disabled relaying on the IMS?
3) Have you been branded an "open relay" by someone?
4) Least likely, DNS lookup problem?

PTR Records???? Need help with this one

Yes, disabled relaying on IMS

Not been branded an open relay, already checked.

Let me add that this problem is only occurring with one outside email client that we are aware of. No one from our staff can either send or recieve email from this recipient. We have not heard of similar problems from anyone else.

Thanks again for the help!

i realize it's just one recipient. PTR records are Reverse Lookup entries in DNS. Some mail clients have the ability to query these records when an attempt to send SMTP mail is made. If these records don't match up with the actual HOST record for the mailserver, mail will be rejected. Disabling Relaying may also have an effect on inbound mail, but I don't think that's your issue. May I ask what the actual domain is that you're having trouble with so I can investigate?
