Hope you can help here people.

We have recently upgraded all out workstations from Access 97 to Access 2000.

The problem we are now experiencing, on most of the databases is that the find function doesn't work.

In some cases, we click on find and the dialog box appears but the "Look in" option is greyed out. That's when we get errors.

If we click find and that option is not greyed out, the search works fine.

I just can't tell what is causing the option to disable itself automatically.

By the way, yes, we have converted the databases.
Hope this makes sense.

Check the references:
when in VBE (Alt+F11) menu Tools -> References ...
Tick the checkbox for Microsoft DAO 3.x and put this reference as near of the top as you can.

Hope This Helps, PH.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, DAO 3.6 is already as far up the list as it will go. Still having the problem though.

Did you check to see if any of the references had "Missing" in front of them?

Actually, the issue may be that you need to convert the databases to the 2000 format. If you haven't done that then use the database utility to convert the file.

PaulF: None of the references had missing in front of them.

AppStaff: This problem is happening after the databases have been converted.

If you used Database and Recordset variables in your code, ensure that all Database and Recordset variables are Explicitly declared as DAO
Dim db As DAO.Database, rst As DAO.Recordset
