Hello,

I have an error in the DNS event log, can anyone explain.
Or advise on what I can do to resolve this problem with AD.

I have the same problem, and nothing is mentioned in the MS knowledge base.

If anyone knows any more about this rpoblem, please tell us what you know..

I got this error myself when introducing a new domain controller (win2003) in my domain. I ran the DNS-service on the domain controller, with the DNS-zones as ADI-zones. This error seems to be related to the order that services starts up when booting the domaincontroller.

What you can try is to change the order that services starts when your DC boots.

1) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\
2) Locate the Netlogon service
3) Edit the DependOnService parameter and add "DNS" in it.
4) New reboot of the server, and check if it still generates those error events.

Now, the Netlogon service won´t start, until the DNS service has started and loaded the DNS-zones from Active Directory. If the Netlogon service starts up before the DNS service is ready, it could look pretty ugly in the eventlogs, cause the Netlogon service will try to register some services in a DNS that is not available.

Try it, it worked for me
