The benefits of ufs logging?

What exactly are the benefits of activating logging on ufs?

I have read that it can provide a speedup? Is this correct?

When a bad shutdown happened, using logging will enable a fast reboot instead of fsck'ing everything

to be honest it's a godsend ...

with users that don't care about shutting down machines properly, and in places that have bad power supplies; it means i don't have to talk to a lot of people about going through 'fsck', and in the process having to tell them the root password for those machines.

Right, so that is it, its a journal system like the ext3 extension of ext2?

I had a system running Oracle database and power went down.
(faulty circuit breaker ) booted system back up and with logging on filesystem even the database was fine.
