The Backup Exec job engine system service is not responding. 1

HELP

I have a backupexec environment with backup server backup exec windows nt sp6a backup exec 9.1
filesvr agent backup exec windows 2003 backup exec 9.1

When this server backs up it aborts with Error a00081d9 the backup exec job engine service is not responding, and I dont know why.

This is the only server that is effected.

The problem has occured since the application of service pack 1 of backup exec.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the client but still the same problem.

If anyone has any idea's it would be really great, many thanks.

If this only occurs after a restore has been run check the following:-

A problem is that you will backup from Windows NT 4.0 to Windows 2003. You cannot backup the System-State! I suggest you to upgrade your Backup Server also to Windows 2003...

I'm having a similar problem. I'm running Backup Exec 9.1 on a machine running server 2003. The job engine keeps turning itself off. I am currently backing up to a folder on a local drive. It has affected every server I am running backups on (there are several with client software installed).
