I am using DHCP and TFTP to remote boot network pc.
My TFTP service keeps dying after awhile (after one or 2 pc's go up. Any idea why it would do so? I can alway restart inet manually or by cron but I would prefer to have a fix for this since it is not supposed to die.

What's in the log?? CAn you turn on debugging?? (-d)

I am using Caldera OpenLinux 3.1.1. standard TFTP.

I'll check the log on Monday when i'll be back at the office.
By memory, I saw a lot of request not filled. Then i simply issued a /etc/rc.d/init.d/inet reload and it did the trick.

By memory, the tftp process is active and the inet reload refreshes it... weird

You are running tftpd through inetd correct?
What does you inetd line look like, are you using tcpwrappers?

Are you using the -n option so negative acks are ignored,
the man pages mentions a bcast condition that can occur when this flag is not used with some diskless clients.

You can turn on verbose logging with the -l option.

Good Luck
