I just had to AT-X an ip400 ds 16, now it just keeps saying TFTP POLL FAILED in hyper terminal. I have tried using manager and a 3rd party TFTP server with no luck.
Anyone have any ideas how to get the firmware back on this thing?
The config i am using does not have the module in it no, its a demo kit i have here in the office. The module is from a client i took them out loaner to use until i can get this dS 16 back up it was totally hosed. However i have another working ds 16 i could add to the config and then switch them.
bas123 posted this in another thread. I think its for you;
ou need :
A config with such a module programmed ( create one off-line)
IP Office setup with a fixed IP Address and a TFTP address pointing to the PC which holds the binaries.
Thirth party tftp software (I recommend 3COM)
AVAYA Manager on the PC with the TFTP ip address
Network access from the PC to the IP Office
Serial cable
Power down the IP Office
Connect the module
Attach the serial cable between the module and PC
Power up IP Office
Open the config with Manager
Terminate Manager and start the TFTP server, set the default path to where the binary files are
Open hyperterminal 3800,8,N,1 and type AT, there should be a response back
Then type AT-X, the unit will reboot and ask IP Office for the binaries, IP Office will dowload the files from the TFTP server.
Often it does not and you must retry a few times.
The reason to use a third party TFTP server is because Manager always says it cannot find the file "avpots16.bin" while it is definetaly there.

Still not working.. I made an off line config pushed it to the 500, settings are all correct for tftp etc.. I have tried AT then AT-X several times nothing.
Start monitor, select the "interface" filter and enable the four packets options top left.
Then you can see why tftp failed, the problems can be:
wrong ip address, no tftp server, wrong/no filename...
If you use Manager then most likely the filename it requests is not corresponding with the filename in manager directory, just change the filename "naDCPv2.bin" or "naDCP-16.bin" to whatever is shown in the trace.
Iintrigrant when i use monitor to trace the packets i get the same results, the requests for Hold Music.wav show up no requests for the DS 16 firmware bins at all, same in the TFTP log on a third party TFTP server (free avaya one). It's as if the system does not even see the DS Module.
You must have a open config with the module in it !!!
Otherwise it will not work
Do you have that ?
