Hello

Having some problems here with the tftp upgrade of Digital telephones on a IPOffice500 4.0.10 with "old" IPOffice Digital modules attached.

I am using the 3com ftp/tftp server rpogram, howeever it doesnt work, and it doesnt work with the manager either.

In the TFTP log the phone is not even trying to get its firmware.
I can see the 500 getting its holdmusic.wav file, but the phones arent asking for anything.

The directory is correct.

Could it be the tftp service on the server? what is it called by the way?

in the system tab did you put ina tftp server ipadres ?
are the modules on 6.0.10 ?

Yes the tftp server address in the ipoffice is correct, and also the modules are running 6.0.10

disable the 3 com server and try with the tftp in manager
did you upgrade the module in one or two stages ?
it should in two
first you need to upgrade to 3.2.99 and then 4.0.10
also don't plug a phone in a port where you just upgraded a phone in get another port ,after a while it is possible again in those ports
if all this does ot apply then there is another application that uses port 69
search for it and disable

I've found that every upgrade ive done on the IP500 with 4.0.X, i've had to go to the bootp entry and check the file is ok, then shutdown manager, restart it and away it goes...
There is a timeout on the tftp side of manager.. i can't remember the exact details, but that restarts the timeout.
If you've been mucking around with config changes first, and still have manager open from then, the tftp woulda stopped by then no doubt..
can but try i spose. I haven't personally used a third party software, but checking the bootp entry might have parallels with the timeout issue??

Cheers,

Chris

I did notice that the tftp did not work yesterday also
i used a thirt party tftp server to get it working
i can't try it anymore
