I keep encountering a problem after 'apple, option, shift' resizing text boxes, with the text inside resizing to the same percentage but 'pretending' to be the same size as it used to be. If I put my cursor in between some lettering it will tell me the size the text originally was and have the size it is drawing itself at after this figure in brackets.

If I then type in the size I want it to be it changes the size but only by a percentage linked to the figure in brackets. I can't just type in the size I want it to be. The only way to then alter the size seems to be to re-import the text, which is a bit of a pain.

Does anyone know how to override this behaviour and get the size you type in to be the size you get?

You have to select the text box with the pointer tool, then go to your transform palette. Click on the little triangle at the upper right, you will get a drop down menu. Select "Scale Text Attributes".

That should solve the problem and give you the real size of the font.
