I am responsible for maintaining my companies intranet site, and I don't have much experience with Front Page 2000.
I have tried to add a new page to the site by following the direction in the help menu. I have added the new page to the navigation view such that it will be displayed in the vertical navigation bar that is set up on the site. A new button is added to the vertical navigation bar and it has the name of the new page on it when I preview it in Front Page. But when I view it in the web browser the text on the navigation button disappears, although the link still works.
Any ideas on what to do?

Check your code. Make sure it is pointing to the web address of the button and not the hard drive (C:) address.

The address of the button image is correct. If I view, or open, the button image it has no text on it. All of the other button images created by Front Page for the other links in the vertical navigation bar have the page names on them. What else can I look in to?

Try something really basic, and often forgotten. Compare the color of the text, to the color of the background.
I've fallen into that trap before and nearly went crazy trying to solve it.

I have tried changing the text color for the vertical navigation bar for the theme on my site and this did not work either. An odd side effect happened though, I changed the font color to a light tan and once the theme was applied to the site all of the buttons had dark blue text on them except the new buttons which still did not have any text on them (wierd?).By the way the buttons are milticolored brownish.

In Navigation View, click on the page this button relates to and re-name it. Save and publish (if appropriate) and try again. Does the text appear now? Patrick

Nav buttons have a set of 2 colors. They change on click. This could explain why you went from tan to blue.
