In Reportsmith, has anyone ever received the SQL Execution Error "The text, ntext, and image types cannot be compared or sorted, except when using IS NULL or LIKE operator". Is there a fix for this?

Thanks.

It may mean that you cannot sort on a text field or ntext field. Are you trying to sort by a text field or include a text field in a WHERE clause?

When I try to insert a field (job_posting_descr), this is when I get the message. I'm not trying to sort on this field, but I am sorting on at least 4 other fields. I do also have a derived field that is MAX DISTINCT with the database grouping option checked. I'm thinking this may be the problem, but I wasn't sure if there was a way around it.

Thank you for responding.

Do a Derived Field:

MAX(job_posting_descr)

Then make sure that in DB Grouping job_posting_descr is not turned on.

The report seems to be working now. Thank you for the feedback.
