Hi guys.

I recently tried to save some work and the text got lost after I saved it. I have no idea what caused this and would like help regarding this. When I re-opened the file on another machine all there was blank space.

It's a 9 page document and the character count (with spaces & without spaces) reads 66,000. The file is attached via the link.

Thanks :)

Select the 'blank space' and try Format > Font. You may have white-on-white, I've done that accidentally on occasions.

Also try exporting the document as Text, does the text appear when viewed in Notepad?

There is also 'hidden text', but I've never actually used that. If you've got an unwanted formatting and can't clear it, 'Paste Special' without formatting is a good way of getting rid of such stuff.

Hey thanks for the reply I've tried the paste special, and nothing appears still. I've tried changing the font colour too and I still cant view it. Lastly one of the first things I tried was to save it as a txt file and still nothing. Any more ideas?

Thanks

I'm afraid that file looks lethally corrupted.
I've tried "Open and Repair" as well as "Restore text". Result was NIL.
I opened the file in Notepad++, and i don't think there is any restorable text remaining. Looks dead to me.
Sorry.

hawkdaddy and makeitso thanks guys, il go on that site when i get to the laptop.

All the content of that file has been wiped - replaced with binary zeroes. It is not recoverable.

I don't know what would cause this. Unless you were trying to save to a removeable device, I would suggest a virus.

Enjoy,
Tony
