Text issue in Fireworks MX

Hi there,

Just downloaded the trial version, and bingo!I've hit the very first problem:

Writing text leaves on canvas only the colour of text (in the box wich itself will have the colour of the text) not the text itself. Funny. never had this in F4. Anyone had this problem before?.

PS: resizing works: text at 96pt will show correctly, but lowering the pts does not help: text will dissapear again.

I'm not quite sure what you mean, I've had no problems with the MX version at all. It does work differently though- perhaps you are making the text color the same as the canvas color? Try highlighting the text and changing the color in the properties box at the bottom.
The alternative thought is that perhaps your copy has a glitch in it. Sometimes, when my code just won't behave, I take it outside and make it listen to britney spears music, and when it comes back it's really well behaved. I wonder if it's suffering from post tramatic stress syndrome now..

Funny thing tho is that the fonts are not showing up properly in the property box.

If your Britney method is right, i might be doing something wrong, see i take it to listen Tom Petty.

try reinstalling the programme- it sounds like you have a dodgy copy.

I play my code SOAD when it behaves well... nothing like positive reinforcement ^_^

I've tried reinstalling the darn Fireworks, and nothing. well, i might as well uninstall it and download another one.

Anyway, thanx for the support. that was my first post here as i was surfing for answers. Nice forums; will be back.

I am seeing exactly the same problem; the text will only do this when the stroke is transparent. If you pick a color for the stroke, you will be able to see the text. This isn't a workaround, though, as the text needs a transparent stroke to be used properly. Uninstall/reinstall doesn't fix. Anybody got any suggestions?

My problem was my color depth; a change to 32-bit solved the problem. It seems to be an issue with the NVIDIA driver.
