Hi there,

I hope you guys can help me. I have text layers which I need to convert into shape in order to rub out part of the text. I know this can be done..but I just cannot see how to do it.

Hopefully this is something really quick and easy to do :)

Thanks

What version of AE are you using? You could also just use masks or even solids to cover up as needed.

If you have Illustrator, import the vectors from there and they will be shapes.

Hi there,

I downloaded CS3. I never thought about masks. I'm not a hugely proficient user of AE but I could have tried that. The text was skewed, flipped to look like a shadow and resting on a jigsaw piece..so where it overlapped the edge of the shape I wanted to erase it.

In the end I just went with it..but it did bug me..lol.

Thanks for replying..I'll remember and try that in the future.

Also never used Illustrator..really must get into all of these things..sure they'd make my life more rounded :)

Kind regards

Carol Ann
