Hi,

I use CR2008 and I'm looking for the possibility to input a text in an executed CR-Report (exec. over InfoView).

I know the alternative to do this with a parameter and a textbox, but this does not seem so good.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Kind regards,
raimi

May I ask why?

To Paraphrase:"The Help you get is proportional to the Help you give.."

Because I have a selection screen with this parameter and I have to let it blank at start. I don't know whether I must add something cause I don't know the output at this time...

I do not find this so practical but it works

i have a question for session time out parameter in crystal reports

Pls reply.

I created a User Function Library to display a message box and ask a question of a user. In VB it's a trivial bit of code. Wapping it up into a UFL took less than 5 minutes to build and compile.

Worked well inside Crystal Reports and even my windows based report viewer.

Put that same report with the UFL on my Crystal Reports Server that does web based report deliver and it killed the server. Not just the Crystal Services, but all services. had to reboot the machine with the power switch.

Looks like the windows service that was processing the report displayed the message box inside the service, but it wasn't visible anywhere to have it click OK.

Not a recommended approach.

If you want to do something like this, try it inside a field with a link to an HTML field, or write some custom code inside a windows based viewer.

UFL is not a good solution here.
