I am planning on storing word documents in sql server. I have been told that the text datatype the 2gb thing)does not actually store the objects but just provides a pointer to them. Does this mean I'll have to store the documents somewhere on disk and provide pointers in the actual text field? If this is true why is it 2 gigs??
