I am fairly new to NetWorker and having difficulty with savepnpc and the related scripts I need to run.

Is there an easy way to test without actually running a backup for the entire group?

Client: Win2000 Server
Networker Server: Win2003 Server
NetWorker Version (all): 7.1.2

Error message:
* chtsrvessb02:C:\ C:\>call D:\Hyperion\Essbase\Bin\esscmd.exe beginarchive.txt >esscmdlog.txt
* chtsrvessb02:C:\ savepnpc: Unable to run preclntsave for group <groupname> successfully. See savepnpc.log for possible causes.

In the admin GUI you may actually move and copy the clients around.

Create a test group and simply copy one client to it for test purposes. BTW, you may have multiple client resources for the same physical machine. So just modify you test client's and use a very small save set for test purposes.

Thanks for the answer, unfortunately, since I have not yet successfully backed up this server it is wanting to do a Full Backup. Any suggestions?

Hey - I believe 605 mentioned it... For testing, change the save set field from "All" to something much smaller (e.g. c:\temp or /nsr).

Hope this helps,

The first automatib backup is always a full. So decreasing the save set size is the only way to keep the size moderate.

605 & AG100 -

Thanks much for your help...worked great.
