Hi,
Testing module power supply, (Document Number NN4321-310, page 337 Testing Module Power Supply, step 4) Document says:?

4 Set the power supply to OFF. Wait until the red column LED lights, then unseat the power supply.
The red column LED should remain lit.
• The system terminal should display PWR0002 and PWR0003.

But when unseat the power supply the red column LED goes off.

Any help or idea?
Thanks.

The document is incorrect.
You will find many errors in the documentation if you look closely.
The procedures are normally correct with small errors.
You proved the column saw an error when you turned off the power supply.

Billcorv,
Thank you for your replay. Now I need to proof to the customer that the document is incorrect .

A physical demonstration with the customer standing beside you should work.
You can explain that there are differences in Nortel systems between AC and DC power supplies.
The procedure is a guide to prove the system will recognize a failure in a power supply.
You might explain that the column LED goes out when you remove the power supply, because the column power monitor can no longer see a power supply in place.
The Ring Generator power supply is optional on the IPE shelf. The Ring Generator is only required for analog phones. If the Ring Generator power supply is not in place, you would not want the column LED lit.
