we have an audix vm system r4.2 v 1 being used with a magix system. There are 8 t/r ports connected to the audix system. From my experience with partner and merlin messaging you can dial those extensions directly to verify the port operation. For testing purposes should i be able to dial these 8 extensions and receive the audix menu prompt. Callers are having trouble accessing vm and i am trying to verify the # of ports actually working.

Yes you dial into the port
for ex.... You dail ext 118 for cm and audix will pick up and say WELCOME TO AUDIX FOR HELP PUSH * H

Thanks

that's what i thought, any idea where to get replacement cards. Don't see any vendors listing them online. Ports 3, 5, and 7 when plugged in kill dial tone and most other ports just ring and ring. Only get a prompt on 2 of 12 ports from what I can tell.

Thanks

WAIT. The Audix typically uses goofy little connectors between the voice card, and the switch. Each voice card connection on the Audix can be up to three ports. So the first Voice Card connection is for ports 1,2 & 3, the second for ports 4,5 &6, and the third 7 & 8, in your case. The Connectors 3&4 are for the first port, 2&5 for the second, and 1&6 for the third.
So...., check out connectivity first. Also make sure all the "correct" ports are in the voicemail calling group.

Pepperz,
all 8 extensions are assigned to the VM calling group and i have verified dial tone on each pr. by cutting the end off an old 6w cord and ringing each ext. with my butt set. I do understand the 3pr. usoc configuration but thanks anyway. The cards are AYC10. I have an older audix system with AYC6B cards in it that i could swipe if they can be used in place of the AYC10. Also, is there anything that might need to be changed in the audix sys. to recognize these 8 extensions.

Look at the system monitor on the Audix system, and see if you see 8 ports, and see if they are on-hook. This is the normal status. If you see otherwise, you may be able to force them into service fy forcing a change of status. I just do not know aobut the other cards. There are probably certain drivers for the older cards, and whether or not they will work, I just don't know.

i went into system monitor and only 2 ports show up. We swapped the positions of the 2 cards in the system but i only get two ports to work no matter what i do.

The ports will not come up if they don't see dialtone. I'm still thinking you have a connectivity issue. Can you force them into service?
