I have 2 T1's. Loop 1 and Loop2. Sometimes the 24 channels on Loop1 will be disabled. I have to disl 1 in LD 60 then enll 1 for the channels to be idle. When I stat 1 I never see any channels in loop 1 busy. Is there a way to force a call on loop1? Does anyone have any other suggestions? All outside calls use the two T1's. Users are complaining that they have to wait for up to 10 seconds for and outside call to start ringing.

Both spans are configured the same. They have worked for years. All calls use RMBR 2 25 through 2 48. 2 t's are configed as route 2. I never see any calls using RMBR 2 1 through 2 24.

How is the RDB set up? Is it set to LIN? Do you see inbound calls on that span?

Go to ld 21 and enter PRT at req then RDB at type. Cust is 0 hit return until ROUT appears then enter the route number, in this case 2. Keep hitting return until you get a print out. Please post the print out.

OK. Your route is set up to round robin, SRCH RRB, this means that it will start outgoing calls at channel 48 then use 47 then 46...all the way to 1 then start again at 48. The ACOD is the access code for the route. In LD 80 you can trac the ACOD to find out status of all trunk members(TRAC 0 7102). Another test you can try is to swap loop 1 and 2. This should be done after hours. Disable both loops and swap them at the CSU or Smartjack which ever is easier. Then reenable 2 test. Disable 2 and enble 1 and test. If you still have a trouble with Loop 1 the trouble is yours. If it moves to Loop 2 it is a carrier trouble.

might want a spare card for the above test, the trouble is not in the route

if you have 2 T1, you can testing both. Connect TX1 with RX2 and RX1 with TX2. When you dial, your call outgoing for one T1 and back for the other.
If your calls are ok, the you don´t have problems with your cards.
