I have 2 T1's. Loop 1 and Loop2. Sometimes the 24 channels on Loop1 will be disabled. I have to disl 1 in LD 60 then enll 1 for the channels to be idle. When I stat 1 I never see any channels in loop 1 busy. Is there a way to force a call on loop1? Does anyone have any other suggestions? All outside calls use the two T1's. Users are complaining that they have to wait for up to 10 seconds for and outside call to start ringing.

the ten second delay is routing, not usually the t.. a down t would give you a busy or nothing, in load 60 do a lcnt 1, that is the error table for that t, if the counters are not all 0, report a trouble on the ckt.. are both t's is the same route? of so the fastest way to force a call to the second t is with the disi 2 command from 60, that stops all NEW traffic on loop 2, teh ext call will hit one when 2 has zero busy channels, disl 2 enll 2 and your home safe..

Another method to test only one of the 2 t's. If call flow cannot be stopped. Rebuild the span in question as a new route. Change your test phone to tgar 0 and cls unr. Then you can use the acod to access the route directly. Inbound calling would be different because this is controlled from the co..

OK. I know the circuit is good. If I do a disi 2 in LD 60 and the card in loop1 is bad will all outside calls be stopped?

yes you will force calls to a dead loop, if you think it's doa, test after hours or build a rlb that points the that loop, if it's a single rdb with loop 2, build a new rdb, put the trunks in it and go from their, you can direct select a trunk from a maint phone, but i don't use a maint phone so i can't help their

look up maintenance phone in the ntp's under communicating with the meridian 1. This is very easy to use and you can test any channel on any t.

I disabled loop1. I did LD 60 RMST 1. Came back with SLFT Failed DTI009 1 Errcode 030.
What does this tell me?

very litte. dti009 just repeats that it failed, their are 100+ error codes, 30 is not listed.. what did lcnt show? are you showing any alarms on the t

Thanks Johnpoole. I will disl loop 2 and try to make a call when we are less busy after 5. What do you think it tells us if the call works on loop 1? If it doesn't? Bad card?

I disl loop2. When I made a call it took 15 seconds, but did not use loop1. When I disl loop1 and enll loop2 the call went through right away.

is loop 1 and loop 2 in the same route?

You said the call took 15 sec but did not use Loop 1. Where did the call go on?

did the channels in 1 msby when you accessed them?... it's seems that the 15 sec call musst have attempted loop 1 then went out analog.. prt tnb 1 1, and tnb 2 1... do they match? it don't sound soft, if it did work at one time, another test would be to roll the inbound t1's swap 1 with 2 at the jacks.. see if the trouble moves to 2.. if so it's back on the carrier..

I think the call used one of our copper lines. I think if a call can't use one of the t's it uses a copper line.

How is the second span configured. I notice that L1 is set to D4/AMI. Is loop 2 the same. You can stat the loop in 60 or print your CEQU to find the answer. Also to find where the call actually went track the phone you are on in LD 80. Use trac 0 XXXX (XXXX is the extension you are on). Sounds as if there is a second entry in that RLI that directs it to another rdb. Also is this a TMDI card??
