Test INADS-LINK, command fails
when I look at the Hardware Error Report for INADS, I get error type 11, the only fix listed is to wait 10 min and try again. I've tried it in 10, 20, and 30 mins. I waited till the next morning after the nightly maintenance, still the command fails. Any ideas?

This is a new probblem, testing the INADS link has worked up untill this month, nothing has changed as far as i can tell. here is what error type ll says.

The switch is trying to report alarms to INADS. The test cannot be run at this
time.
1. Wait 10 minutes and retry the command.
 
Adaum,

You will need Avaya to dial into your PBX and fix this for you. As a business partner we have our customers pbx's dial into our alarm server. When we have gotten this error in the past we have had Avaya dial into the pbx to fix the issue. It's been awhile since we had them fix this issue so I'm not sure what they did, but after thet were finnished it fixed the problem.

Are you calling a toll free number or LD number? I would verify that the line is good and can make a call prior to calling Avaya.
 
it's the 866 # for AlarmTraq. It's sounds like the switch isn't even trying to dial out. I'm not sure if there is a way to force it or not.
 
I would check for dialtone on the line, before calling Avaya. It could be a bad pair between you and the CO. It should be on the 25 pair of AUX 1. See if you can place a call out on the line. If you can then it sounds like you have no other choise but call them for support.

I did speak to avaya, they said we need to apply patch 42.97, this fixes a probblem with a counter of some sort being stuck. The patch removes the counter. I'm not abbly to use this fix because it requires a Restart System 1, and this is a hospital.
 
The reset system 1 will not be service affecting. 2 and higher will take different levels of service out.

The probblem with Reset 1 is that they won't be able to make any new calls durring that 15-30 sec period. For a hospital that a probblem.
 
I too work for a hospital. If you do this early it will not be a problem. I usually come in about 6:30 in the morning to do that and reboot the VM system, those sort of things.

I am in the process of upgrading to new servers here and you want to talk about a panic. I am comming in at 2:00 in the morning to do that.
