Recently due to cutbacks I was put in charge of the definity system. I have had a couple years experience in the past.

In going through and beginning to clean up old accounts, extensions, etc., and clearing alarms I found that there is no test command on this system.

It HAS been about a year since I was actively involved with a definity, but I seem to remember a test command. Any ideas why there isn't one or why it wouldn't have been turned on at the install?

Thanks very much

Unfortunately these days Avaya is making their customers pay a right to use (RTU) fee for maintenance permissions.

WHAT?!?!

That is without a doubt the silliest thing I have ever heard.
So, for the "right" to keep my system running efficently, I have to pay?

Yep. Or pay them to do it. Hate to be the bearer of bad news. Sounds like you are as happy or this as the rest of us.

When I tried to obtain MSPs for my switches, I was told Avaya will not sell them unless I have an Avaya Maintenance Agreement....

Maintenance assist is the lower level of a maintenance agreement. That is why to have your technical permissions you must have at least a maintenance assist agreement or higher.

I changed permissions by myself. If you can't then try add new login. That worked for me.
