Hi...

I have a win2000 advanced server instalation and I installed terminal server.

I created 2 users test1 and test2.

they both can login over terminal server and they are both standard users accounts (so no administration rights or power user).

Now I installed office (as administrator). And I can configeru email for both users.

THen I install difrent software (accountancy software) and I want only test2 to use it. Now the problem is that only the administrator can use it.
that is ok that the admin can use it but test2 can not.

If I click on the program icon it starts a setup that finishes verry fast without clicking next. Then it asks for username and login for the app but it does not do anything. and it is the same for test1. I assigned full acces to this app for test2 and not for test1.

All this is not working on the server itself and not through terminal server. I wanne use terminal server so my accountant can log in with test2 and start the accountancy package.

how can I do this?

How do you install the software? from add/remove program?

I just install it from a cd. when I'm logged in as administrator.

winoto has a point. With Terminal Services, you MUST install the software with the ADD/REMOVE Programs... in fact, i'm surprised you got Office installed. You usually need to install it with a special MST with the ORK (Office Resource Kit).

Well it is not installed from terminal server. I installed it on the server when I'm loged in on it as administrator. But not with terminal server.

Only the users will use terminal server.

best regards

If you install the software from the cd you have to go to command prompt, type change user /install, install the software and then type change user /execute.

Some people prefer to do it with add/remove program but i like this way.

How about your Office application? is it running? That's weird that you can install it just like that, especially Outlook.

If you installed Office before you installed Terminal Services, I would uninstall Office and reinstall now that the server has Terminal Services activated. It may seem to run ok now, but it may do some buggy things at the worst time.

Keep this in mind when you reinstall Office. If you are installing Office 2000, you will need to download the Office Resource Kit and create a custom transform file (.mst) to use with the installation path from Add/Remove programs. However, if you have Office XP, you will not have to do this.

I hope this helps.
