I have roaming profiles setup for my users for when they connect to a terminal server. I setup the profile path in the Terminal Services Profile tab in AD user properties. Everything was fine until I changed the permissions on the folders so that we could backup the profiles. I changed the permissions to:

Administrators = Owner and Full Control
Username = Full Control

Now my users get unable to load your profile access is denied errors! They have full control... I changed the owner on the folders back to the user with subinacl.exe and still they are getting access is denied errors even though they are Owners with full control of the folder!

Any ideas very much appreciated.

That is very odd. Are you able get into these profile folders? Sounds like this may be a bug issue and may need a possible hotfix. I would look into that. If I find anything on it I will let you know. What may be a good idea is to just go into all their profile and grab all the data they need and back it up, then completely delete and remake these profiles. I will try to hunt around and find a better answer. Sorry I could not be of more help. Good luck.

Are you inheriting all the folders in the child to owner also or are you leaving them to the administrator?

If you just give the User owner permission to the folder, he/she will still not have permission to see the child folders.

No i reset the owner on the %username% folder and all subfolders and files.... Very strange indeed. I have renamed them all to %username%.old and they will be recreated tomorrow. I will then do some more testing to see what I can find...

Thanks for you time in looking at my problem
