Hi,
I have a terminal server setup as follows:

Terminal Server License Mgr displays the following:

Built in accounts : unlimited
Windows NT 4.0 Full License : 1
Windows NT Upgrade License : None
Temporary License for Widow NT 4.0 License : 106 issued

I am not familiar with Term serv licensing.

With citrix you have a base license and additional licenses installed on top of that.
When the number of logons exceed this, all further logons are denied.
Is this the case with Term serv???.

Also, as I am have not installed any term serve licenses previously, where is client licenses assigned to a workstation??.

Does a client use a NT 4.0 server calc and Term serv licence for win 95?? and NT 4.0 or is there a difference.
The info I have found on term serv licensing have been pretty useless, so far.

Please note any info to clarify above set-up would be appreciated..

Thanks in advance..

NT, 2K and XP clients have built in licenses so no admin required there.
all other clients (win95 I gather), will need a CAL. you only appear to have one, that would explain the temporary licences issued.
there is also an issue with CAL's not being returned to the pool (which may be where all your licences have gone). see MS article Q294729 for more detail and a fix.

In your environment you need 1 tscal for every device that will connect to the Citrix Servers not every user as each user could have more then one device, ie home and office.

If you haven't already you need to purchase licenses, as mentioned above, for each device and activate them at the license server (Terminal Server Licensing). This will get rid of the temporary license problem.

It also looks as though you are using NT 4.0 Term. Edition. This version of Windows uses Microsofts best licenseing, The honour system and temporary licenses did not expire. So in essence you could carry on and not worry about it. It is however important to make sure you have all the appropriate licenseing to make it legal.

Hope it Helps
