Hi All,

I have a strange issue with our Terminal Server. We have a Terminal Server setup on a Windows Server 2003 R2 box. I have set it up with a group policy that will automatically disconnect idle sessions after 30 mins and End a disconnected session after 1 hour. This policy works fine for most people.

We have one user that has quite a flakey internet connection and therefore her VPN does drop out frequently. But for whatever reason, when her connection drops out for a split second, the terminal server has already logged her off. The drop out will generally be only for 1 minute or so, but her session will be logged off and all unsaved work is lost.

This has now become frustrating for the user and I am at a complete loss as to how I can troubleshoot what the issue could be.

Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what the problem maybe, or how I can troubleshoot to find the cause?

There is nothing in the Application or System Logs. In the Security Log I see the following, which looks like the user has actually logged off the terminal server, but she swears that she has not initiated the log off. In this instance, she was working in Outlook when the connection dropped out, RDP client attempted to reconnect but failed.
