Is it possible to install and use Terminal Server 4.0 on Windows 2000 Advanced Server ?

SSK

Windows 2000 Advanced Server comes with Terminal Services, but you will also need a terminal server licensing service to be set up, or it will only operate for 90 days.

There are additional features in this operating system, but to really unlock the potentials you should consider adding Citrix MetaFrame for Windows 2000.

Terminal Services installs as a network service on Windows 2000, just like WINS or DHCP. There are actually 2 modes: Application mode which will allow the TS to serve applications to RDP clients, and Administrative mode which allows you to remotely administer the server. You only need licensing for Application mode.

You establish which mode you want when you install the service.
