cu is very "rough". I am looking for a more graphical, easy-to-use version.
I would like to use the terminal program for sending a textfile (or preferably resending a textfile forever).
Please Be more specific as to your need. Exactly what is it you are attempting to do? XC is a terminal program, but if you just need to send a file, that semes to be an odd way about it.
1. Prepare a text file (size about 1-2 K)
2. Send this file thru a COM-port to an external modem. Note that I need to send the file at low speed (50/75/100/150/200 baud)
3. Preferably I would like to have the possibility to either send the text file once or loop it forever.
not sure what you mean by "more graphical" than cu.
are you are looking for a scriptable application that can talk directly to com ports?
does it have to run in X windows as a graphical app?
can it be character based?
just a shell script around cu will do most of what you asked for. ckermit is another option.
baud rate for the connection is/should be unimportant to the application.
I am using a termianl emulatation program that is ANITA for SCO openserver 5.2 (Sweadn based software). Really it is a wonderful software. The web address is
