Aloha 6.1.3. windows homexp. I have 2 terminals and server BOH. My problem the master terminal (TERM1) fails to register station name when terminal 2 is running. If I shut TERM2 off it will boot up fine. It has been this way probably since I did a reinstall on TERM2 years ago. Now the big problem TERM1 went down and I cloned TERM2's hard drive(couldn't get it to reinstall) set it up as TERM1 and works fine as long as TERM2 is not running. I cloned the problem I thought was in TERM1 out of TERM2 not knowing this was an issue TERM2 owned not TERM 1. So now neither terminal will register station name with the other one on. Lana # is set to 0 & number of terminals are set to 2. Any help. THANKS!

1. check IP address - you will get this error if any other ip is the same. Usuallly set static - the server ip as xxx.xxx.100 - server, xxx.xxx.101-term1, xxx.xxx.102-term2 etc

2. Sheck computer name - make sure you changed the computer name not the computer description.

3. Check the ibercfg.bat file term=1 for term1 and term=2 for term2, also numterms=2.

Check the debouts on the terminals in the aloha\tmp folder, post the last 20 or so lines here fir diagnostics.

Thanks Coorsman will do and get back to you.

Yep, the IP addresses, the term=, and computer names have all been changed.

It gives an RFS error when either one is turned on, while the other one is already started. (Term1 is on, Term2 will error on startup, and visa versa.)

RFS is not needed on a system with less than 10 terminals.

I would turn it off then do a term install on all terminals.

So is RFS disabled locally on the terminals? Or is disabled on the Server?

Tried running the advanced setup again, and set it to setting up the RFS later. Once restarted, we get Ctlsrv error of a wrong security key. When running the advanced setup I assume the security keys that are filled in already are read from the current install, and are correct. Double/triple checked the keys, and they appear to be what is listed on the server.

RFS can be turned on in aloha manager - maintenance - store settings - system - RFS. Check disable RFS.

Re-install aloha on the terminals not the server.

Thanks Coorsman, problem solved. Although we only did a terminal refesh because we were having a problem earlier with reinstall not finding the security key. But all is working well for now.

Thanks again,

Yep Yep, thanks coorsman.
Disabled RFS on the server, and everything worked perfect.

Thanked your posts.
