Hi Everyone,

This is my first post and I really need some help on this one! I have read the ref thread, as well as others, and they have been super helpful in explaining my issue and the locking down the exact symptoms I am experiencing....

My issue is trying to get voice to work on a remote worker IP Set. The set registers to the BCM just fine, and I am able to see it connecting to other DNs and external lines via the BCM Monitor. From everything I have read, this is probably caused by the default gateway routing issue... I am not sure how to setup the remote router/IP Set to get the gateway set the way it needs to be to be able to route the voice packets.

I am running a BMC50 6.0 with NAT Traversal / Remote Working License

Remote Site:
Exfinity Cable Modem/router
Gateway: 10.0.0.1
Local IP for IP Set: 10.0.0.3

Please help!

Jamel

I've had the same problem some years ago with trying to register phones from my BCM 50 version 2 across the internet. I never did get it sorted out. I tried all the known ports and still wasn't able to obtain dial tone. The set registered OK. My thoughts were that my ISP was blocking access on certain ports and I had tried a few different routers.

All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

I guess I will have to give Comcast/Xfinity a call to see if it is a port blocking issue, or if the issue has to do with the gateway issue that I have been reading about in other threads, such as the one I have in my original post.

I'll try some things with Comcast and report back. If anyone else has any insight, please let us know!

Thank you, Jamel

I was finally able to solve this problem!

I had my ISP (Comcast) change my modem into bridge mode and when I connected the IP Set to my Linksys router, it was able to register fine, as usual, however, still no tone....

I fumbled with static routes, but was not successful in that. I checked the logs in the router where my BCM was connected and saw one port being blocked. I originally had port 7000 open, but needed to open 7000-7001.

Finally works!
